Murray has gotten past the 2nd round, all bets are off! Excited for Andy vs Novak, what a throwback

Only a player with the incredible defensive talent and experience of Murray could come back from years out with a *METAL HIP* and change his game to stay competitive. He’s nowhere near as fast as he was, but he’s *still fast* and that’s incredible, and he’s getting better and better at absorbing pressure from younger, faster guys. I’m not expecting a miracle against Djoker but wow, how good will it be to see them face off one more time

I’m so glad Murray defeated Shapovalov. Big improvement from Murray at the start of 2022 to now. I hope he can see and feel his progress.

As intense as clay is on the body, I think it’s doing Murray a lot of favours. Gives him time to get to balls that he loves to chase down. Novak is a tough opponent but excited for hopefully a great match.

I’m so happy we get to see Djokovic vs Murray, a few years ago this would have been a grand slam final. Can’t wait to see them play again!

Props to Murray for his grit this past year, I remember all too clearly how bad he lost to Shapo recently, not this time! Maybe Clay is actually a good surface for him with his current game??

As a spaniard, very proud for the tournament improve in the last few years. Respectful and big audiences, great organization and facilites. We won’t ever host a grand slam, but we do have good tournaments at the moment.

Carlos , future number 1, just a matter of when not if. Pure talent, intelligence, and endurance. Andy the new and improved 2.0.

Worst I’ve ever seen Alacaraz play. And he still beat Basilashvili in straights. Guy’s a force of nature. Murray has hit a new gear. Seriously good today. Think he might take Novak.

The best match isn’t even in those highlights. Van de Zandshulp vs Carreno Busta was really good with a lot of intensity and suspense.

2:43 I’m sure that Alcaraz always guess the right side in these situations, and he can return this kind of balls successfully in 85%.

Gael will have watched his whole career passing in front of him, standing behind the base line.
How on earth Shapo can loose on clay two sets down at 1 and 2 games against Murray? I know it don’t play much but to be overpassed by Murray on athleticism is a mystery to me.
I’d like to see more of Draper, great game, he’ll sure be in the future top 10 if he keeps playing a good game.

Really happy to see Andy’s movement. This will really help him. His hip seems to be holding up well, and hopefully stays that way. His tennis level is also looking great. He really does look back. I don’t know if his previous matches were absolutely top quality from him, but he looks like he’s playing high level tennis to me. Great to see him back.

Very impressive shot making from Murray, precisie and penetrating ishots and of course super competitive. Can’t see how he can maintain fitness to go all the way but match up with Djokovic has the potential to roll back the clock. Neither player is close to their prime but both are gods of the game and the rivalry could spur them to play a thriller

Wise choice from Murray to play Madrid. The conditions suit him. Slower than HC, giving him time to get to balls, but higher altitude also lets the ball fly through the court making points quicker and less punishing than Rome or Paris. So nice balance for him.

that movement from andy is impressive, just let Shapo beat himself for a lot of the match and came up with some brilliance of his own. can’t seem him beating novak but really looking forward to the match and you never know with tennis!!
