A pretty interesting final tomorrow, I’ll actually be surprised if Zverev could take a set against Alcaraz with this wild crowd behind his back!

If Alcaraz wins tomorrow, it would be one of the most impressive Masters 1000 wins of all time. Beating Nadal and Djokovic back to back, plus the defending champion in the final with only 19 years of age would be insane

Alcaraz drop-shot is so deadly even Djokovic, the master of flexibility, cannot reach it. Man, among new gens, this guy is the most dangerous and enjoyable to watch. His game variety is more interested than others.

I’m clapping, alone in my house, middle of the night, at this guy, what an amazing run he’s having

After watching first half of the highlights and comparing it to the rest I almost forgot Zverev and Tsitsipas are top 5 players. Alcaraz and Djokovic are on another level. Even if Zverev wins tomorrow Alcaraz has already done the heavy lifting for the tournament beating back to back goats … and the quality of his wins are another thing to admire I mean his wins weren’t flukes by any measure he earned both wins

This kid is bringing down the absolute hammer on the entire tennis tour right now. Even if he doesn’t capture the Madrid title tomorrow (although I REALLY hope he does), after what Alcaraz has shown just this tournament alone, he can win a Grand Slam by the end of next year.

The teenager is turning the tides of the Big 3 and the future generation. Truly remarkable.

alacaraz’s and djokovic’s match was really entertaining and incredible, hope there would be more amazing ones in the future!

Djokovic is a front runner so to beat him after losing the first set is truly remarkable. Well done Alcaraz.

Win or lose today, Alcaraz has accomplished something special already. Sad to see people trying to detract from his performance because it isn’t a major or because of Djokovic and Nadal being in their mid-30’s. Who cares? They’re still clearly the most talented and complete players alive right now and in tennis history. Alcaraz has shown time and time again over the past year that he’s not getting lucky. You don’t skyrocket from #120 to #6 in a year by getting lucky. You get there by playing big-3 brand tennis, having practically no discernible weaknesses, and having the mentality, dedication and fighting spirit to back up the incredible talent.
Watching Alcaraz play should make the viewer realize how many hitches players like Medvedev, Zverev, and Tsitsipas have compared to players with legitimate potential. Those 3 are at a point now where they can physically compete for major titles, making it through 2 grueling weeks of 5-set matches. But they don’t have the all-court game, the brains, or the mentality to do it consistently when they eventually face a Nadal, Djokovic, or a healthy-Federer-like player, who has the physicality necessary to last 2 weeks, but also the type of game to handle every player they may face along the way.

Zverev coming alive just in the nick of time. I actually think he has a good shot at defending the title tomorrow. Alcaraz has pulled off Houdini after Houdini and his rise has been something we haven’t seen before since Rafa in 2005. But I don’t know how much he has left in the tank and historically he’s yet to solve the Zverev match up. But let’s see. I have a feeling that Zverev might roll him over with huge serving and forehands, especially in these high altitude conditions. Hopefully it’ll be competitive but I won’t be surprised to see a one-sided final to Zverev here. Nor would it be surprising to see Alcaraz finally overcome this difficult match-up either… this kid is something else.

Alcaraz really has great strategic shotmaking and touch for someone his age. It’s what really separates him from the rest of the next gen players imo

Zverev wrote history today. I doubt there ever was a player before who had a 1st serve percentage of 91% and a second serve percentage of 0% (all second serves double faults) until the end of the first set

Zverev becomes unplayable when his serve is on. Tough tough match for Alcaraz. After two grueling matches, he still has to overcome a big challenge in Zverev to claim the trophy. I think it’s going to be a three-set match.

Alcaraz stole the show of course, but that was pretty impressive from Zverev given the season he’s having so far.

Alcaraz is officially the youngest player to beat both Djokovic and Nadal…period.
His mastery of power and touch is just ridiculous for a player of his age. Djokovic fought admirably against the opponent and crowd as he so often does, not to mention Alcaraz is Djokovic sons new favourite player 😄

The best thing about Alcaraz is his versatility and ability to read his opponent’s game and change his strategy during the match. Something really surprising with only 19 years.

The final between Alcaraz and Zverev will be highly interesting to watch, because the German comes to this match with much confidence in his gameplay, specially serving really well, and Carlos playing exceptionally after defeating Rafa and Nole in back-to-back matches.

Special special talent.. Love this guy already .. After Nadal he seems like the guy who will make me fall in love with tennis again.. Nadal and Djokovic were rusty but also I feel like he will be the first player in years to actually make them rethink their game and re-discover their competitive skills.. They will be stretched after a long long time.. other next gen suckers never made them think much up until now.. but I am sure they will come up with answers.. They have reigned over the tennis world not just because they are best but also how they keep improving whenever required.. I am sure Alcaraz won’t find it any easier to win against them next time as they will come prepared.. specially Nadal .. he really knows how to mentally break someone.. it will be interesting to see how Alcaraz holds up against them in next meetings.. Congrats to him again.. What a player we have received at last
