It’s great to see Carlos in action again. Grass is a tough surface, but he fought hard against Struff for a tight win. He can only get better.

At the end of that 5 setter he looked the exact same as in the warm up – the fitness level is insane and so is his game .

Good thing he played a 5 setter, that’s what he needed, pressure and practice on court. If he goes further he will surely build confidence and get more comfortable

I don’t think he’s going to win Wimbledon, but this tournament could be a good step in the right direction for future success on grass.

Struff played a once-in-a-blue moon type of match. He hasn’t been this clutch especially with his serve of late and Alcaraz still managed to win so it should be a huge confidence booster for him especially considering that he out-aced the 6ft 6in Struff by a big margin. He just needed to capitalize on BP opportunities more. He’ll need to take a lesson from this and use it in his next match against another big server next round

Great to see Alcaraz pull through. Every tournament is better with him still competing. The guy is pure entertainment. I was expecting Struff to be a real test, and he proved to be just that. He played really well but seemed to run out of steam by the 5th set.

Very tough first round for Carlos, but the good thing is he played 5 sets, so he is rolling through and hope keeps getting better

4 hour match and 3 min highlights… there was a point in the fourth where carlos ran all over the court and ended up winning the point where the crowd literally exploded and its not even here… poor point selection

That’s what Carlito needed! Time on court against a very dangerous grass court player. Struff would have been a handful for anyone, including Nadal and Djokovic. Great win under pressure!

These grandslam highlights are the ABSOLUTE WORST!
1 point per set, then the setpoint, then unneccesary breaks to show the set score and then not showing the handshake at the end.
