Success on the pro tour so often boils down to who can get hot at the right time and maintain their momentum for as long as possible. Nishioka was on a 6 match losing streak prior to this tournament but you wouldn’t know it from the way he was playing today.

Nishioka’s really improved on his power, last time I saw him he was mainly just getting the ball over the net, cool to see him hitting much better than he used to.

Been really looking forward to nico vs reilly, match of the bug servers. Tbh I think nick will take it because I think he is more mentally tough for those close sets that end in tiebreaks. But reilly is of equal level with him and he could step up at any time. Really interested to see how it goes tomorrow

Poor Fritzy boy, but I found it very entertaining to watch Evans bounce around like a pumped up Energizer bunny while Taylor is keeling over after every point and leaning on the back fence. Hope he feels better come Canada and Cinci.

Very interesting how Taylor went down before Evans. Taylor is 8 years younger but he looked gassed/dehydrated by the end while Evans looked fine.

Khachanov is type of player that wants to hit hard but it seems like it’s all in vain. But I think he is still solid player and great guy.

Incredibly impressed by Nishioka! 🤩 Brilliant playing! Very unfortunate end for Fritz’s match, however, considering how well he was doing at first.

Looking forward to the resumption of the Kyrgios v Opelka match. Nick 0-30 up on Riley’s serve too!
