Crazy to think that the back in 2005 Gasquet almost beat Nadal, and since then he has only won 2 sets against him…the last time was in 2008…I miss the Gasquet of old.
Gasquet had only three problems in his career. Tonight was one of those three
Nadal is simply sensationally tough.
Nadal, the combination of:
– top level coaching
– the right genetics
– work ethic
– mind set
– natural talent
Amazing how players play differently against top players. It was almost like Richard knew he would lose.
No one beats Gasquet 19 times in a row.
Gasquet must be haunted by the memory of once being the stronger junior, only to take a severe beating 18 times in a row since then
Gasguet seems such a nice genuine person. His weaknesses, movement/recovery, grip changing, medium paced, one hander bh… Any one of those can be fatal to being able to beat Nadal. You would have to play all out attack, swinging at everything, but even then it seams impossible
When Roger is not around, I’m 100% behind Rafa. Hope he can go for 23 🙂
Yay Rafa! Richard definitely made it interesting in the 3rd so I’ll give him that. But Rafa closed the door quickly in terms of giving him a chance.
Rafa highest win% in grand slam matches, highest grand slam final win%, and highest winning% vs top 10, top 5, and Big 3 at slams…
The point at 0:18 reminded me of his Match Point against Djokovic in the French Open
Now begins the real test for Rafa.4 matches still remain, if he were to win it and they can go the distance. Tiafoe, Norrie, Carlos/sinner, Daniil. With question marks surrounding his serve speed, the next one can get trickier
I wonder what Gasquet must have thought when he had that break point in the first game lol
Djokovic 18-0 vs Monfils
Nadal 18-0 vs Gasquet
Federer 17-0 vs Ferrer
I m Djokovic fan but Federers record vs Ferrer is the most outrageous bcoz he is better than Monfils and Gasquet
Watching this match i was like… gosh this guy is too athletic. Touch to beat. Loved him somuch but loved Federer more.
Ombeliebable… another US Open title is in sight.
Can you imagine how it feels to have never won a set against the guy?
There are many beautiful things about tennis, but watching a great single handed backhand is special. For me no one does it better than Gasquet
It’s okay Gasquet lol. Rafa bageled Novak in FO 2020, bagel him in Final
Incredible how Rafa can demolish a classy player like Gasquet so easily.
Bien hecho , Rafa. ¡Vamos, hombre, a por la victoria!
Es un PRIVILEGIO verle jugar,SIMPLEMENTE: GENIO
I wanna see Nadal vs Alcaraz this coming round. I guess Nadal can still handle the teenager well. This is such an exciting game and of course this is 50-50🤗
Always loved the beauty of Gasquet’s playing but Nadal is from another planet 🙂
I still can’t believe that I went to that game last night! Best experience in my life!
H2H is 18-0 That is an achievement in itself by Nadal given the quality of Gasquet’s tennis.
He simplified his serve motion to take care of his abdomen and he is benefitting from finishing points faster.
