Nishioka’s game has been evolving the last few seasons, the guy is definitely not the most talented, but his grind and Japanese work ethics are clearly showing. Two Top 10 wins this season along with a few other good results for a dude that’s 170cm and without any signature shot is quite astounding. And mind you, it’s not Hurkacz or other top10 player that loses quite often with less-ranked players, but Ruud, who however tired he might be, is still a very solid player and a tough opponent to go through.
SOOO happy for kwon and chung. Such good players for Korea, playing in their home country. Amazing.
Nishioka’s forehand improved significantly. He always had great backhand, but his forehand surprised me
Shapo at his best is absolutely lethal and spectacular to watch

Man shapo was on fire. He was moving around the court like a damn hummingbird. You can tell he is really feeling it this week. Was able to catch the match live. And somehow it wasn’t as close as the score.
As a Japanese, I am so happy to see Nishioka‘s win. But more happy to see Chung‘s come back!
