I’ve been saying that Musetti is a growing threat. With Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, Lorenzo, Rune, and a few others, the men’s game will fire up some new champions.

Out of all the next gen, Musetti, for me, has the game to do great things, and is very Federer like. His only slight weakness is mental strength, which on occasion, goes on holiday. Although of late, this area of his game is much improved and you could see that his game plan was to completely nullify Beritinni’s forehand, by targeting his weaker backhand.
Musetti’s game has improved immensely. His footwork is fantastic and that serve (especially the first serve) is a weapon now. His mental game has a big part of it as well. Less shrugging of the shoulders nowadays. Great win for him.
Musetti has the strong points Shapovalov and Tsitsipas have, but without their weak points: he’s much more solid than Shapovalov during the exchange (3 or 4 unforced errors on this match) and he’s much more rapid than Tsitsipas to execute his shots. I think he will be top 5 the next year, and win majors in his career. Anyway, I hope so. He’s game is beautiful.
