Holger really did the impossible today. From 1 3 in the third set, he defended 6 Break points, the tie break would be interesting. But he did it. Unbelievable. I was sure Nole is going to win his 39th Masters title when it was 3 1 . This kid is really smth. Amazing end of the year.
One of the most impressive displays in one week ever, beating 5 top 10 players and Djokovic included, especially at 19 years old
This match gave me Chung Vs Djokovic vibe. It was like Djoker facing facing himself. Crazy how Wawrinka had so many points to put this kid to sleep. But here we are. A new inspired tennis star is born who will continue dominating, hopefully
The way he adjusted his game to match Djokovic’s is like a veteran not a teenager! And he received the trophy from one of my favourites – Stefan Edberg! And thanks Tennis TV for the right amount of highlights!

Rune’s new top level matches anyones now. Today and yesterday he has been a whole new player. As a fellow Dane, I have crunched my toes many times over the years when watching his Kyrgios-like on court tirades. Wonderful to see him possibly growing up now, getting his act together. He has as much talent as anyone, that’s for sure.

Tough to say but this is even better from Rune…the character & fight he showed is incredible not only today but whole week…right from saving match points against stan till today..he played awesome tennis..
Hope Rune can play ATP Finals as well (if rafa pulls out) …and if he does, he will be the favorite..
I don’t even like Rune, but man… he has just played phenomenally all week. Beating Novak, indoors, in Paris…. no one can say he didn’t earn it! This guy is legit.
Astounding by Rune. He had one of the most difficult draws probably in tennis history: Wawrinka, Hurkacz, Rublev, Alcaraz, Auger-Aliassime and finally Djokovic in the final. Not only FIVE top 10 players, but FOUR Master’s 1000 winners, THREE GS champions, one of the all-time greats, and the hottest player on the planet in Auger-Aliassime who was on a 16 match unbeaten run with 3 back-to-back titles. I was quite sure he was going to choke at the end there, succumbing to the huge pressure trying to serve out the championship, and that we’d witness another Djokovic tiebreak win for the trophy but Rune somehow didn’t fold. The kid is unreal.
Great for Rune. What a talent, well coached. I like the sportsmanship of Djoko who obviously did not begrudge Rune his win

First time I’ve seen Novak choke against a teenager in a finals game. That kid has got some super mental strength in him🔥🔥🥳
Impressive victory for Rune. But I remember when Djokovic lost his first matches against very young Zverev and Tsistipas. It was around 2018. The comments were very similar back then: he is finished, new era has arrived., etc.. Then in 2021 he was a match away from winning a calendar grand slam. So don’t write Djokovic off too early…
With Rune and Alcaraz we’re getting a whole new gen firing from a young age, actually winning big tournaments and showing that they have more than just talent. It’s what tennis needs.
My nerves were destroyed during this match, but gotta love when the GOAT is smiling even when he loses.
The first time Rune impressed me was against Ruud in that french open match.Rune was playing some tennis in RG until he lost in quarters I think.
He was playing super tennis then and now having beaten Felix who came off the back of 3 tournament wins says a lot about Rune.
He plays a bit like Novak himself and a touch of Sinner like backhands,this boy can play……
Good for young Rune – that win means much more to him than the loss does to Novak – who at this point, really cares about 4 events

Joker so gracious in defeat. He is the best ever without a doubt. As for Rune, sky isn’t the limit as he is a gifted talent with a big future ahead if he stays healthy and hungry
Coming from djokovic fan – i have no problem accepting this loss. Rune played amazing, mentally he was superior. Its more about Rune playing superior than djokovic playing bad. All props to Rune.
Congrats to the clutch performance of Holger Rune! 🏆 He showed resolve and maturity! And welcome to the Top Ten! Who knows, he may have a chance to play in Turin. A great week for Djokovic as well. He worked his way back up.

Holy smokes I didn’t realize how FAST Rune was. He was like a backboard in that third set. Djokovic was hitting what would normally be winners left and right and Rune got to nearly all of them and with enough time to do something with the ball! Incredible.
That kid is very good and what a fighting spirit he has 😱 We have to congratulate not only him but Djokovic who’s very sport/fair-play after the loss !!!
This was by far the best match of the year! Didn’t expect this to be a thriller as it ended to be. Holder Rune is the new rising star for sure!
This young man is amazing, defeated 5 top 10 players, and this final match is classic. Even Djokovic is not at his peak, still not easy to defeat him, but the 19 year old boy made it, unbelievable!
