I love the scream at the end. To me it feels like Casper has a lot of qualities but, might be missing a bit of arrogance. In both slam finals this year it kinda looked like he accepted to lose when his opponent wanted to win super bad. Here it looked like he had the guts to fight even when the match was super complicated and Fritz didn’t give him the match
Great job to both players. To Fritz to for holding so tight with Ruud who is one of the best players this year. And to Ruud, for managing to beat Fritz in a tie-break. Fritz is the most clutch player on tour and doesn’t lose many of those.
What a Performance from Fritz so far, so close beat the 2 times Slam Finalist this Year!
Ruud is so solid and incredibely fast and That forehand is like a rocket, moves so fast damn.
Heck of a battle. When Fritz managed to get back to level in that breaker, thought he was going to pull it out. Seemed to tighten up slightly. Great showing so far by Casper. Semis two years in a row is no small feat.
For a shorter clay court player to beat two tall, well rounded young players like alliassime and Frits on fastcourts is pretty amazing
Ruud the indoor GOAT has never failed in the group stage, always makes the semis
Fritz did well to come back from 1-5 down to make it 6-6. The net was kind to Ruud in the next point. He’s a deserving winner. In this form he can trouble anyone, including Novak.
Going by the level, Rudd will reach finals.
