Baez has some monster forehands. Kudos to Shelton for surviving that first set. Big respect for both these dudes.

I was relieved when Munar was put out of his misery. All throughout i feared that the bear trap his leg was caught in would snap if right off. Thank you Djere🙄

Go Ben Shelton, a good kid with hard work ethic. His father is a class act. God willing he will be top 20 soon.

Man is shelton fun to watch, love his game! Anticipating a huge breakout from his first full year. Tons of opportunities with no points to defend. 2023 is shaping up to be an amazing year for American tennis!

Ugo Humbert won Halle 2021 beating some top players and played awesome whole tournament..18 months have gone past and haven’t seen him winning a match since then…Hope he can get back to his best this year..

Isner knows that he doesn’t have that much longer on the main pro tour. He was disappointed in himself for not closing out the match in the 2nd set.

Shelton has star quality!
I think he’ll break into the top 100 this year.

What’s with so many matches being played indoors with a crowd of 5? Weather issues?

There was a bad line call on the Isner match where Isner hit a forehand pass splat on the line to go up 0-30 on Barrere’s serve at 4-2. This was right after getting broken; it would have given him some momentum for a chance to get the break back. Kinda an unfortunate call and I felt like screwed Isner up to end the match. Credit to Barrere though, he fought well to even give himself a chance to get ahead and win the match, by fighting back in that second set breaker. Unfortunate though to see that kind of call affect the end of a good match like this

Such a shame the weather doesn’t want to cooperate. Finally the tournament returns (covid), but then it rains … I feel bad for the people who want to attend the games.

First win for Shelton outside the US! Still amazed how he was able to reach the top 100 without ever leaving his country. Can’t name another player who has done that.
