This is why tennis is one of the greatest sports. It’s never over till it’s over. What a comeback by Rublev!! Down 2-5 in the 5th, manages to force a tiebreaker, down 0-5 in the 5th set super-tiebreak, and then 2-6. and wins!! Bravo Andrey!! Andrey in his interview after the match, “it’s not a rollercoaster, it’s like two guns to the head, a rollercoaster is easier” 😩😩😩😩😩 😂😂😂😂Congratulations Andrey!
No hostility to Rune, he’s one of the best youngsters, but well done Rublev, finally sent Mouratoglou to home!
Unbelievable match by two young players. Hats off to Rublev, great comeback in the last tie break 0-5 to 11-9. 🔥🔥 Can’t wait for the next match against Novak Djokovic?
What a painful loss for Rune but I think the mentality of Rublev has improved a lot and that’s the key to his success this time!
Both players are skilled, but Rublev proved to have the biggest tennis balls when it counted.
I don’t really like Rune, but his talent is undeniable. He is able to make shots on both wings pretty consistently that most players just cannot. His defense and speed are also extremely good. Both he and Alcaraz are special talents.
This match showed me that Rune isn’t quite ready to win a slam. He had multiple chances to win it in the fifth but couldn’t handle the occasion. Serving for the match and tamely got broken to love. Had two match points on Rublev’s serve but stopped playing his aggressive tennis. Then 5-0 in the breaker, and again, he went completely passive allowing Rublev to get back into it.
Incredible play by both players, but in the end Rublev proved you should never give up, even 5-2 down in the deciding set and 5-0 down in the super tiebreak. This is why he is one of the best and one of my favourites!
Wow epic match .thought Rune had it but Rublev was a fighter to end💫
“Its hard to beat a Person who never gives up”. Rublev really hung in there then found an opportunity to win the match. What a fighter he is🔥🔥🔥
Well done to Rublev! His tenacity and perseverance paid off! Never say die! I don’t want go home yet! He deserved the win! Hats off to Rune! This game will make him a better player next tournament!
Gosh that net cord is so painful for Rune but congrats on Rublo 💪
Rune choked but credited Rublev for staying focused. This match is what Rublev needs to toughen his mental game.
Holger Rune is doing great at this age. His defeat came from the heart.Patrick Mouratoglou knows the cause of rune’s defeat.
Just one point away from match and lost is not at all easy thing to digest at this stage!! Hear goes to Rune and Congratulations to Rublev and good luck with Djoker!!
The difference in the end came down to experience in closing out a high pressure match, which favors Rublev.
Insanity. I feel for Holger on that match point. But what a great match from two very worthy competitors. BRAVO!!!
Great match, I thought Rune got this one, but he choked at several crucial moments. Congrats to Rublev, gonna be tough with Nole.
These highlights don’t even come close to showing the drama that this match was. AO should start uploading extended highlights for such crazy games.
Bweeh!
Rublev looks like he Really Really wants it. I genuinely hope he wins it all but it’s unlikely with the way Novak is playing.
