This match is just incredible! Need to give credits to both players, 3 sets (all decided with tiebreak), and how many match points did they save in the last tiebreak? As a tennis fan, this is an amazing performance from both players. 🤯
Saw Isner in the thumbnail and immediately thought what a shame it was for Wu to come this close to making history but loses the final, only to be surprised at the end. Well played Tennis TV, well played!!
I watched the first set and thought John would win it. Came back to find out Wu saved a few mp to take the title. This week has been insane for Wu as he took out Shapo and Fritz to get to the final. Flawless victory.
He was reading Isner’s serve correctly more often than not on those match point saves. Extremely impressive to win a tiebreak against Isner like that.
What a match from both players. Isner was running every ball down and Wu had nerves of steel!
This was incredible. Probably the best level I’ve seen in a while from Isner but Wu was just a different beast today.

I’ve been watching Wu since the Challenger Tour last year. He showed signs when he reached the third round of the U.S. Open last year. Even on the Challenger Tour his ball striking was tremendous. But what stands out is his mental toughness and tenacity. I think he’s a top-20 player by the end of the season and a future top 10 player. Congrats, Wu Yibing! You earned your first ATP Tour title!
Wu is one of my favorites now. His backhand reminds me of Nalbandian, also a favorite. More power, Mr. Wu!
