Humility and consistency are two corner stones of being a Top most ATP player. Rune needs to cultivate both. I personally felt he wasn’t too invested into the match initially as he thought he would win this match against the lesser known opponent. And that’s what swept him off. Injury or not, he was outplayed and that’s the fact.

Great performance by Sinner, he was clearly motivated and up for a revenge after that AO classic.. Demon is tough to beat these days too, which is nice to see, Medvedev was much better today than in his last match.. anyway, interesting match-ups ahead 🙂 this tournament is a joke!

Rune got ambushed because he completely understimated his opponent due to his ranking. If a top player is just a little off or goes into a match over confident, they can be taken out by a hungry and motivated 160 ranked player

Man Tsitsipas never fails to dissapoints when it comes to making one handed backhands look horrible.

Jannik, I have always said that your day will come. Great match! Keep up the hard work and many more will come for you.

Sinner was composed, greatly executed tactics. You can see he watched some Djokovic vs Tsitsipas matches

Sissy’s one handed backhand once again proved unsustainable on faster courts. He could run around it somewhat to unleash his awesome forehand but that caused different problems.

I’ve seen Cressy boasting about his game in the past, but if you only do serve and volley, opponents can just do a passing shot or lob, and those shots are fundamental at the highest level. No matter how perfect his volleying skills are, Cressy must cultivate his attacking game to reach the next level.

C’est dommage pour Cressy, j’adore ce joueur car il est à contre-courant du tennis actuel. Il est avant tout un serveur-volleyeur, c’est tellement courageux et beau à voir.
Go Maxime 👍

“The uncomfortable challenge” is a great way to describe Cressy. Very disruptive to any player in this modern game.

Sinner & Tsitsipas Duel was absolutely breathtaking. It was really a formidable appearance which was completed among them. Medvedev looks ideal with his glory. Defending champion Felix Auger Aliassime also looks steady.

What an imbalanced draw it is. Sinner tsitsipas was supposed to be a semifinal or a final. But nevertheless, sinner has proved that he has the mental strength, the aggression, the skill, the precision, the consistency and more importantly the ability to raise his game to win pressure points. Just no tantrums or no extravagant celebration. Just love this guy!!!. He’s gonna be the successor after novak. He almost made a remarkable come back against tsitsipas in the AO.

Can someone explain me why Sinner is facing Tsitsipas in second round? How is it possible with their rankings?
