Thompson elegance is mindblowing: yellow shoes, black socks, white shorts, orange shirt, grey wristband and blue racket!

Cool that Wu Yibing got through, but he certainly didn’t make it easy on himself, he had 47 winners and 48 UEs compared to Munar’s 9-21 difference. If he plays more like that second set and cleans up his game more he’ll be able to go far here.

I saw some of Tony Wu on the challenger tour last year, this guy’s been pretty solid. Bublik’s in a big slump outside of that semifinal run in Marseilles, hope he gets back his form at some point, dude’s super fun to watch. (i’d like to know what racquet Wu uses)

Seems like Monfils is shaking off some rust which is unsurprising but he still showed some signs of life, maybe he’ll find a rhythm after winning a couple of matches.

Nakashima seems back to his best, though it’s a shame the form Isner had in Dallas hasn’t translated here

Munar might be a nice guy and I have nothing against him personally, but man I enjoy watching him lose. His game lacks any kind of attacking intent and he’s literally just playing the ball back every point, his playing style really triggers me. Normally, when people call players “pushers” they really aren’t, they might just be counterpunchers or lack a big weapon but play with aggressive intent, but Munar literally goes out there and hopes his opponents hand him the match with errors, zero aggressiveness or creativity in his game and it’s nice to see that punished

Let’s give Monfils a couple of matches to get back into rythme and let’s see what he can really do ! I believe in him 💪🏽

Set 1 : Munar and Wu both wearing green top, white cap, white shorts, white shoes
Set 2 : Munar takes off his cap so people can tell them apart
Set 3 : Wu takes off his cap to maintain confusion

Allez Gael, on se décourage pas, c’est pas facile de reprendre le circuit après un gros break. Bon premier set, deuxième un peu plus dur, mais le plus important c’est d’etre présent.

It is really sad for me to look at names like Gael Monfils or John Isner loosing in straight sets at the first round, It´s the end of an era….

T. Wu actually looks a better coordinated player to me than Wu Yibing. Yibing’s strokes, and footwork look out of alignment and though he won a title recently, I think as of now the other Wu will go farther. That is unless Yibing sorts himself out.
