The one player that I don’t mind being upset time after time. Great win by Thompson.

Some might blame Tsitsipas for his loss in R64, but I firstly want to think highly of Thompson’s patience especially in the last set. He continued keeping his service games though actually Tsitsipas almost got chance for several times. And in the tiebreak, when the score got 5-5, Thompson won the point due to Tsitsipas’s unforced error. Granted the overall performance throughout the 3rd set, this situation where Thompson had a single match-point, was so precious and unmissable.
Eventually he got the chance owing to opponent‘s unforced error. That was definitely lucky but the result inseparable from his consistent effort in this match. Great upset.
Tsitsipas never fails to disapoint ….

Tsitsipas just had an interview where he said his shoulders not feeling good and he’s burnt out from the last month so he’s been playing poorly, this isn’t too surprising
