I wasn’t confident that Tiafoe would beat Medvedev given the latter’s little streak of brilliance he’s running on now, but I was pleased to see that he at least made Daniil work for the win! He wasn’t beaten 6-2, 6-1 or something like that, he brought it to a seventh game each time and forced a tiebreaker!!!
Tiafoe was stunning but it’s just another masterclass by Medvedev…. I just love how the crowd supported Tiafoe all the way through.

Ну в самом деле, Медведев пятисетовики выстаивал против Надаля, кого ему бояться, когда он в форме?
Wow, you were really quick with these highlights, thumbs up. Great match, Medvedev is so solid he’s almost unplayable at times (12 unforced errors in two tight sets say it all). Some of the passes he made were unbelievable, but kudos to Tiafoe for being creative and trying different tactics. Attacking the net is the way to play against Meddy and Tiafoe got some serious hand skills for volleys. Also big up for playing his best tennis on those match points, but Medvedev didn’t lose his focus, he’s become quite impressive mentally. Whoever wins the other semi, the final is going to be epic.
4 finals in a row for Medvedev. What a month for octopus!
Despite the loss, this has got to give Frances the confidence it takes to make it to that first big final. Perhaps he should play in a small hard court tournament to try and win a final to get that mock boost. In his US Open SF and here, he matches up against the two best players in the world at the time.
Medvedev is gonna be the men to beat this year! If he continues playing like this, he might even win a clay court match this year😂

If Sinner beats Alcaraz, I believe that Medvedev wins the title easily. Sinner just doesn’t have enough weapons and versatility to beat the Octopus. If Alcaraz wins, I’m curious to see who will win the final.

**Yawn** I said at the *start* of this tournament that Medvedev was the one to beat. “He’s not good on these courts!” “Just because he beat Djokovic, doesn’t mean anything” “You don’t know tennis!” Well I guess I do, huh? Because here Meddy is going into the finals just as I predicted. Can he beat Alcaraz? If Carlos is in top form, it seems doubtful. But if it’s the version of Carlos playing Sinner yesterday, quite possibly. Whatever the case, Medvedev is in the finals, which is quite the accomplishment on its own. I hope he wins.
C’mon, Med! Been wanting to see him get back to the top of the game. Regardless of who wins the final, I hope Med soon makes it into the top 3. Would be great to see him, Alcaraz, and Djoker duking it out for the top spot over the next couple of years.
