Bagnis was so nervous during that first set he could barely return a ball into Alcaraz’s court for most of it (helped by the relentless forehand and backhand bombs Alcaraz kept throwing at him). Just a month before he turns 20, Carlos appears to have already developed the aura that defeats their early-round opponents even before they set foot on court, not dissimilar to Roger, Novak, and Rafa. The difference to the Big Three is that as you watch Carlos’s insane display of tennis skills, you are anxious that he might get injured at any moment. With the Big Three that only started to happen (for me) when Nadal hurt his back against Wawrinka in the 2014 AO final….

The fear factor is here. Some opponents of Alcaraz already feel indimidated. Also, he already established his signature drop shot as a lethal weapon.

El mejor juego corto que he visto en mis 39 años, es que ni Federer lo tenía a este nivel y con 19 años. Es realmente increíble la muñeca y sensibilidad para dejar la bola parada del otro lado. Increíble talento

Saved the best for the last! What a match from Taro. I don’t remember when was the last time Zverev received a bagel from any player. Some very inspiring passing shots and return of serves from Taro who made a short walk out of Zverev!

Daniel is in the mood of beating former and present top 10, Ruud, Berrettini and now Zverev. First time I’ve seen Zverev getting bageled

Carlos Alcaraz is almost looking flawless at this point. Only if he was born earlier😅, we could have seen more matches with the big 3

Carlitos Alcaraz and Holger Rune I love how they play and what energy these two guys have, also where they place the ball in a very precise and impressive way. IMHO!

Alcaraz has the perfect forehand drop, Rune has the perfect backhand drop. Both have great power and movement. Hope to see them facing off in the quarters.

As for Daniel Taro, he totally showcased the power of PureDrive.

Alcaraz…. This,,, alone is responsible for bringing back the excitement in tennis during the post-Big 3 period.

I could feel the aura coming off of Rublev and Hard Rock stadium is huge! It’s gonna be a stadium in the next world cup, more teams too

Carlitos must be protected at all cost. He’s so young, but he’s so good that people always expect him to win. His physical and mental health must be protected to see him rise to greater heights ❤

SO glad to see Ruud playing better 👏👏🙂. Hope he keeps getting better 🤞. Carlos seems to be the man to beat! I’m not sure the “fear factor “ is in place yet. Think most of the players want to be the one that beats him, while he’s #1. If he wins this tournament and the next..then the fear may be real.
