Was rooting for Sinner, but can’t deny that Rune is truly something special. That backhand of his is particularly remarkable.

Didn’t think Rune had it in him to take down Sinner, but he was clearly the better player in the third set. Will be interesting to see how Rune recovers tomorrow to face Rublev.

I get that the weather was shit and there were plenty of breaks but it still sucks that the stadiums even at the SF stage are so empty—. I would give various parts of my body to watch that Sinner – Rune match live.

Rune vs. Rublev at Australian Open was a thriller till the end. Rune lost it despite leading 5:2 in the fifth and 5:0 in the tiebreak, and the match point was decided by a super un/lucky net cord. I think he will be very motivated to get his revenge tomorrow. But Rublev is no joke so it can be another tight match.

WHAT A MATCH. Runes’s movement on clay is insane. I like him a lot, but in the final I’m rooting for Rublev. He has a long time deserving a masters 1000 title. So lets goooo

Excellent match to watch. Tennis IQ decided this match and Rune started to outplay sinner later in the 2nd set. Amazing match from both.

Top class tennis in both matches. As good as any other over the years. Little to choose between Rune and Sinner. Both played very well. Unfortunately For Sinner, Rune exposed his mobility issues on clay court. That forced errors from Sinner. Few points made the difference. As for Rublev I am hoping he gets his first Masters title in this tournament. He deserves it.

After that 6-1 demotion and the comeback in the 2nd set, had to think it was sinners night, but rune had other ideas, great win!

Sinner is soo good to watch. Guy can compete for slams just needs to be a more clutch in key moments. Love his game.

the rain made the ball heavier and harder for flat-hitting player like Sinner. You can notice how many times Sinner’s shots hit the net after the 1st set, that’s why he couldn’t do his game properly. It’s not an excuse for Sinner, just the fact that he has disadvantage there. Congrats to Rune

WOW, what semifinals matches! Firstly, so happy for Andrey. He’s come so far working on his mental game, and the progress is showing. Phenomenal stuff, and I hope he wins the title. So much to unpack in that Sinner vs. Rune match…love Sinner, but perhaps not coincidentally, I think it’s his mental game that needs work. His strokes and athleticism are there; it’s when things get tight that he can show weakness. Not sure what to say or think about the purported bad sportsmanship by Rune. It’s clear he’s fiery and highly competitive (and not making many friends on tour as a result). I think he’s got an exciting game, and hopefully he can tame the emotions as his career progresses.

Said this before but everyone hating Rune will inadvertently strengthen Rune’s mentality; he seems to thrive off of the hate from crowds, at least in the match. After all that’s what made Djokovic so strong mentally. Hoping Sinner gets a big title soon.

Sinner needs to get stronger. Literally every tournament the same thing. Starts out by blasting the balls, killing his opponents but as soon as he plays a few rounds and faces someone who can grind from the baseline he just starts missing a lot and playing slowly

Props to Rune for pulling a great comeback win! As Novak mentioned, Alcaraz, Sinner & Rune are the next Big 3!

Sinner saved enough break points to win a whole set of this match!! Crazy good mental fortitude from both players!!!

Has anyone noticed that Rublev hasn’t been making as much noise on his forehands lately? It’s almost like he’s reigning in his energy a little.
