Happy for Ruud to be seemingly back to form, 2023 has been rocky for him thus far. Good time to be catching momentum just before the French Open.

Finally Casper looks like he’s finding his form, just in time for RG where he defends finalist points.
This French open could potentially be the most wide open FO since 2004. Nadal is holding a press conference tomorrow to announce his RG intentions, many Spanish news outlets have already reported that he has withdrawn. Novak hasnt been at his best this clay season but he has this uncanny ability to find his best at grand slams. If someone manages to upset him early (I dont think that will happen, but if it does), then Casper might be one of the favourites alongside Alcaraz/Rune etc.

And wow Rune beats Djokovic twice in a row! That is so tough to do. Novak always learns from losses and knows what to do vs a player in their next meeting but Rune was the better player today! No injuries, Djokovic simply got outplayed. Higher unforced error rate largely due to the pressure Rune put on Novak and the high level he brought and sustained throughout the match. Just like Bercy, didnt blink when facing BP when serving for the match.

A great champion Novak always gracious in defeat, Rune coming into his own. And Casper the friendly tennis player surprising me and resurgent for possibly another great French Open. He really is a clay court battler.

Casper alomost out of nowhere looking like a serious contender again for RG. With Rafa surely going out early and Novak looking vulnerable you have to like this young man’s chances to get back to the final.

Holger has recently developed confidence and courage, everyone can be beaten. You just have to believe in your abilities. Give Rune 🙄🙄🔥

Ruud is always a classy player. Never a bad gesture or attitude, 100% hardwork and sportsmanship.

Cerundolo & Ruud both have to work on their backhands.

You need a strong backhand at least to set up the winners on the forehand better to begin with.

Cerundolo needs to find more stability in his shots. There is too many unforced errors flying of his racket.

Both seemingly great personalities.
I would like to see them both rise to the top of the rankings.

Cerundro is good with his forehand, so Ruud’s strategy of collecting balls in his backhand is correct. Djokovic losing to Rune is no longer a surprise.

I initially bought into the negative reception Holger was getting (JAAAAA-gate didn’t help) but I’m really digging his game and look forward to him being a threat on the tour for a long time!
