I can’t help but think that Ben Shelton has hit his “rookie wall”, similar to the way Taylor Fritz did when he was 19. I have no doubt he’ll develop the consistency to produce deep runs on tour and maybe he’ll rediscover his form somewhere during the rest of the American swing, but his results since the AO have been abysmal and he no longer has the luxury of having no ranking points to defend the rest of the season.

On the flip side, good to see Kei Nishikori back and in decent form, hope he claws his way back into the top 100 by season’s end. And also that Chris Eubanks backhand 👌 👌 👌

Kei not only winning his first match back on the Challenger tour, but also on the main tour! Thompson has been in great form recently so this was a quality win for Kei (also his first top 100 win since his comeback)

Damn that Nishi backhand is as beautiful as ever. His and Korda’s are the only two-handers that match Nalbandian’s beauty! So glad to see him play like that. I mean Thompson was really, really good today and Kei managed to close it in 2. If Nishikori plays like that consistently and has some decent draws, he can return to top-20 soon.

Kei is back! Yet another great player who was unfortunate enough to peak at the same time as the 3 greatest players to ever live, and when Murray was also pretty unbeatable to everyone except them a lot of the time. Love the guy, great style. What a backhand he has

Isner losing two tiebreakers in a row is almost unbelievable! Lots of surprising results today.

How good is Eubanks to watch! Such a great style and he’s hitting the ball so cleanly of both wings. I hope he makes some deep runs at the grand slams.

That’s a tough tournament for Kei. Wu is feeling it coming off a huge W from UTS LA and Eubanks off Wimbledon. Will be a fantastic tournament. Wish I was there 😂😅😢

The only way I’ll be convinced that Shelton has much of a future in tennis is if he is showing improvement while he never wins. I never see his matches because he doesn’t play that many matches because he loses all the time and there are so many other more exciting players to watch. Go Eubanks!

ATLANTA250 had been bareley on the radar. But this year’s edition is definitely more exciting than HAMBURG500 and UMAG250.

Eubanks is playing Federer style, taking the ball super early and distributing angled one-handed backhands. He is turning into a contender for the US season!

Kei has to be one of the most underrated players from the last decade. Dude has legit grinded his way back on tour from injuries multiple times. Wild.

やはり錦織は天才なんだな
