zverev played really well..after that injury from roland garros he has returned back to that form and will be a tough contender for us open..and congrats to djere as well for an amazing week
I’ve always said Alexander has the potential to win the French open. He can do it!!
So he came back from an awful injury and won the title in his home town. It’s been a great season for him, hope he can end up the year among the 8.
A beautiful win. Being out of the game for a long time due to injury, wins Hamburg Open as the first german in 30 years, and in his home town no less.
Wow, great win and amazing return for Sascha, semifinal of the French and now a 500 title, next year looks bright for him.
Djere pushed him well – Good luck to him in the future. Zverev is strong but could play a lot better with some decision-making improvements. He still was strong enough to win however. The lion roars.
What a treat of a 1st set that was! Incredible level from both. Top-5 or top-10 set of the year probably! Zverev is really back now. I’m sure that title got him the confidence booster that he needed so desperately after some tough loses(especially against Medvedev). Zverev is officially a contender for upcoming big titles again. It’s too bad for Djere, but there can be only one winner.
Great tournament for Sascha, huge congrats!! Hopefully it’s a beginning of a comeback into top 10!

big fan of Ruud here but the biggest difference between Ruud and Sacha is the backhand.. Ruud is so passive on the bh, nearly a pusher.. while Sacha’s bh is a really shiny top5 bh.. i loved to see Sacha winning again.. after the injury and the double faults issue he had been through.. rly happy for him!
I like that Zverev comes into the net more often. That should translate well to hard courts, especially if he can keep serving like this.
