De Minaur coming back from 5-1, 40-30 down to win the set is INSANE! 9:20
On the other hand that set was peppered with unforced errors from both.
De minaur has so much leg strength it’s insane.

Alcaraz’s level was very up-and-down, but gotta be happy to escape with the win. Everyone, even the big 3, has off days like these, and with someone serving the way Hurkacz does it makes sense for Alcaraz to struggle. However, I felt like Alcaraz had zero issues returning his serve, which is encouraging as he continues to look like possibly the best returner in the world right now. His bigger issue was just making unforced errors during rallies.
In the first 7 games of the third set, Alcaraz looked phenomenal. Looked like how he played at Wimbledon. But then the next 4 games… not so much. 2 terrible service games with more unforced errors. Luckily he shrugged it off and won his 5-6 serve game than dominated the tiebreak easily. Great composure overall in a match where he could’ve lost and no one would’ve blamed him. Carlos continues to prove he is all-time great material. Now if he could stop getting terrible draws, that would be nice!
Meddy had that look of “you can keep on shooting dropshots against me; I reach every single one of them unless your name is Carlitos.”
Alcaraz knows how to adjust within the game when it matters most. He is not just strength but more so he uses wits to beat the opponent. And his hardwork is insane.
What a comeback from De Minaur in the first set!
This cross-court forhands on the run from Carlitos are a great resemblance to Roger’s antigravity shots of same kind. What a raw talent and exceptional execution. Stay healthy Carlitos and bring us more fun!
