The 2023 US Open main draw runs from August 28 – September 10 in New York City at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. The tournament takes place for the 143rd time and is the fourth and final Grand Slam of the year. Last year, Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz and Poland’s Iga Swiatek claimed the men’s and women’s singles titles. It was both players’ first US Open title, with Alcaraz winning his first Grand Slam title and Swiatek winning her third Grand Slam title. This year, at the US Open, we’re set for another historic tournament as the world’s best tennis players head to New York. It was always going to be a tall order for Baez to beat Medvedev. He had his moments in the match but ultimately he fell short.
This match isna perfect example of a top player (DM) playing an opponent that presents little threat, but does nothing to be aggressive to prepare for more dangerous guys. These slow pusher rallies are just too safe. Danil should do more.
Playing against an high school brick wall or against Meddy probably feels the same.
yepp, still don’t get meddy’s strategy that always hits the ball back to his opponent side… but I reckon this only happens when he’s in reciever position… that’s why most people say his play is boring with lack of variety… but to me, he likes to make his opponent thinks it’s like playing against wall… but like he said in interview when he lost against alcaraz in wimbledon semi, this strategy won’t work with goat players…
