The level of the tennis right now is insane. They’re all playing like they’re top 10 players. They’re all hungry for victory. This is so wonderful to see. Hurkacz and Korda specifically can produce some scary good tennis at times
Woke up early to watch both matches! Such great tennis! 3 setters with EPIC tiebreaks. 3rd set hinge points for both matches: Hubi winning the 40 shot rally at 3 all & Korda gaining a 5-1 lead in the tiebreak which gave him ample cushion against errors. Great serving, energy management, & cleaner tennis during pressure points were the keys to victory in both matches. Go USA!
This may sound weird, but Seb reminds me of Fed. The calm demeanor, the feel on the ball, the clean ball striking, never looks rushed or uncomfortable, always looks better technically than the guy across the net, seems to have all the strokes whether it be baseline, mid court or the net. So easy on the eyes. I hope he wins a slam.
This entire tournament in Shanghai has been epic!
I like how Korda & Ben were just chatting after the match like 2 good friends who just finished a practice match…it’s quite rare. More of it🤗💕
Good job by Korda. I like how both players changed the narrative about American male tennis by going more to the net and not just relying on serves and forehand. Ben surprised me more given that Korda has a Czech influence, so a door for a different style.

Korda has to be one of, if not the cleanest striker around right now. Just a pleasure to watch him play (except for those 5 missed match points) 😅 After Sinner he’s my favourite player for sure!

Is it just me or did tennis suddenly become awesome again? It’s like Alcaraz came along and slapped everyone across the face and all the other young guys suddenly realised it they could too
Shelton vs Korda was a cracking match! Interesting fact: on his way to the U.S. Open final in 1995, Andre Agassi beat both their dads. He defeated Shelton Snr in Round 1 and Korda Snr in the quarterfinals.
Shelton’s big smile after the match is something we’d like to see more these days.
For Ben to save 5 match points it was incredible! I was at the edge of my seat the whole third set, just wasnt meant to be this time, but Ben did so well this tournament

Shelton is gonna be top 10 very soon. After Rafa, he is the only left-hander who is delightful to watch. Also, Korda in the last two months has been elite.
I’ll be watching this Fabien closely going forward. He’s smart and has the fundamentals but needs more experience playing at the top level.

I like Ben Shelton. Even in a tough loss on a big stage, he still has a smile on his face, respect for his opponents performance and class running through his veins. Well done Mr and Mrs Shelton. You raised a proper man.
Even more reason to like Korda after that win. No grunting. No drama. Just good ball striking. I hope he continues to get even better.
