Mochi has been so impressive. And Shelton has ridiculous easy power; the next great American player after a long drought.

Incredible from Mochi! What a tenacious talent he is! Hope he can be the next Nishikori, he hits such good angles on both wings

Wow. A 500 level tournament where the semifinalists are Mochizuki, Karatsev, Giron, and Shelton. That has to be the most unexpected outcome possible😂

Mochizuki is phenomenal. Always supporting Karatzev. Hopefully we’ll get to see more of both with big Ws.

Me encanta como juega mochizuki, para mi gusto es más que nishikori, tiene más recursos. Tremendo tenista que tiene ahora Japón 🇯🇵

Mochizuki has really won my heart through the course of this tournament. Rooting for him big time to take home the trophy

Mochizuki scarily resembles Nishikori that came before him, the way he takes the ball so early and eats up the baseline so quickly. He had titanic battles in his early days too before he burst into the elite echelons of the sport.

its always so exciting to see a hometown hero having success. The cheers add so much hype to the match, and you can really see how it brings 110% out of the player.

Giron and Karatsev on a good day are two of my favorite players. Shelton is not even surprising anymore at this point. And Mochi, what a joy to watch! Super versatile and the cleanest technique!

Karatsev depowered the Demon in straight sets 6-3 6-2. It was the grocery gauntlet as Mochi set Poppy seed’s expiration date in 3 sets 7-5 2-6 7-5. It was the most interesting match aside from Shelton’s which had a tiebreaker. SF lineup: Shelton vs Giron & Karatsev vs Mochi. It’s gonna be good!

Auger Aliassime never disappoints ❤. He must be favourite of those who loves to do betting on tennis. Such a consistent player he is.

Great matches, Giron reminding me a lot of Hewitt, amazing match from Machizuki.. and well, Karatsev… just terrifying

I’m really looking forward to watching Shintaro tomorrow. I used to be a ball boy, and he was such a humble and polite player.

Thumbs up for Mochizuki, a very gutsy and powerful performance from such a tiny guy, yet with lots of variations in shots and great dynamic. Another bonus: Asian tennis players are usually very restrained in showing their emotions on the court, which makes them slightly boring, but not Mochizuki. Definitely rock’n’roller with an entertaining personality.

Stop giving Karatsev the smallest highlights!!! He’s the former world number 14 and one of the guys who managed to just win two top 20 opponents. Give him more credit and recognition!

The way that Pop congratulated him at the net made my heart happy – like he knew how much this meant to the young player. And for him to backup his win over Taylor will be HUGE for his confidence!

*Shintaro Mochizuki* is a great crafty player! He was ranked 215 in the world prior to the Tokyo Open and he’s only 20 years old! Come Monday he’ll improve to a career high 129 ranking if not better.
*Ben Shelton* who just turned 21 will be ranked a career high 17 or better come Monday. He was ranked 96 at the start of 2023.
With losses today, *de Minaur* and *Paul* didn’t help their chances in qualifying for the ATP Finals.

Karatsev has to be one of the most stylish players ever… his balance and upper body position on every single point is out of this world.

Shelton is getting better psychologically. He seems more composed, steadier. Less rattled. Excellent game.
