I’ve never seen Djokovic tested like this by a no name in the early rounds. I hope this guy emerges as a next gen talent.
Prizmic made a name for himself tonight but Nole showed us all why his experience and mental fortitude are his greatest assets. Well played from both!
Those who dont know Prizmic is the 2023 Roland Garros junior champion and also has won 6 of the 7 finals he has participated in.
Prizmic, after slowing down in the 4th, still managed to defend 6 match points before losing. Against the GOAT. That’s impressive.
Australian Open def makes the best highlights of all the Slams youtube channels.
This kid got applause from the GOAT himself.
First rounds are difficult sometimes for top players because their opponents have played well through many qualifying rounds and are ready while top players can come in a little rusty. Many upsets happen in the first round. If Novak was a lesser player it may have happened here too.
Definitely not Nole’s best match, but still a W. Keep going strong Novak!
This kid is the one to watch !!! Novak got a win despite making so many errors… but he’ll get better as the tournament goes on…

Next gen taking shape. Lot of talented players
I don’t know much about Djokovic’s opponent but like him, he’s very watchable and he put on a great show for us all.
This is a great first round match for Novak, it puts in him gear for the tournament early. First rounds can be tricky at times. Great job by Prizmic for showing up to play at a high level.
That exchange at the net literally brought a little tear to my eye, this is why I love Novak and will unconditionally love this man for what he has brought to the sport of tennis and to humanity. Just an incredible human being in my opinion.
I feel like matches like these show why Djokovic is truly great. Everyone sees him consistently beating top players in the semis/finals of slams, but I bet these matches are equally tough for him mentally sometimes. A lot of these guys come out playing like they have nothing to lose, and Novak is usually not in top form in the first week. The fact that he hasn’t lost before the quarters of a slam since 2018 is wild.
Novak Djokovic is an incredible human
who makes tennis very special.
Hats off to the wonderful highlights, amazing. Secondly, Prizmic showed true heart and courage, what a great match! Djokovic didn’t play his best but he persisted through his struggles and a player that truly played a great match, respect.
Set 3 was longer than set 2 despite having fewer games, the final results of the set really don’t indicate how intense it is.
Such a fantastic match! Will definitely be following this young player in the rest of his career. I wish him the best. So glad AO puts this footage out so fast!! Great social/content team!
4 hours to get through a 1st round. Thats tough for Novak. As someone mentioned below, Prizmic is the French Open junior champion and you can see why. I so love that he actually was believing continually that he was going to win or at least could win.
Score doesn’t show how gruelling the match was. It was full of lengthy rallies
This Prizmic guy is awesome!! I wish to see him much more often in the future
I’m calling it and saying this Dino Prizmic guy will be big soon. His strokes seem very good, he is humble, and was able to get in some long rallies with Novak this match. Novak still pulled it off because he is the GOAT, but give Prizmic some time and he is going to be an amazing player.
Great match great exchange at the end from both players. Even the umpire was impressed
