Never seen Montils sooo on business in my life! Nice to see him showing these young talents what experience looks like

First we had Prizmic at AO, then Fonseca in Rio and now Mensik in Qatar. This young generation is looking very promising.

After defeating Andy Murray, Mensik played a phenomenal match against Rublev. This guy is definitely one to watch.

It’s crazy how tennis is so diverse in its player base. You have a guy like Mensik, a young gun playing some of the best tennis of his career so far, and then you have Gael, one of the oldest players on the tour also get to the semis. What a time to be a tennis fan.

I can watch Mensik slice all day! Just beautiful… the most polished slice i’ve ever seen from a 18 y.o. Kid’s got serious game!

This kid looks like a top ten player. Moves great for a big man, and almost no unforced errors. Also, tremendous poise for his age.

Mensik beating Rublev in straight sets was a shocker. Never heard of Mensik until this tournament.
Monfils is a delight to watch. He’s playing more intelligently now to conserve energy.

Moni hits effortlessly. The ball glides off his racquet. It’s a thing of beauty, only comes with time!✨✨✨

Monfils turning back the clock 👏. His wins against both Zhang and Humbert were very impressive. His lateral movements are a bit slow at times which could very well cost him in his next match. But at 37, making it to semis at any tournament especially against tough competition deserves a round of applause.

I’m also going to make a prediction that Mensik will be in the top 50 by the end of the year. This kid is a beast

Monfis! What an amazing talent. Too bad injuries kept him from reaching the top.
Mensik looks like the real deal at age 18. He could make the top 20 in a year or two.

Andrey failed to convert 6 break point opportunities and one set point, he also just gave away the first set by double faulting and making unforced errors to give away his serve which is very uncharacteristic of him as he played pretty solid before that game. He also fumbled a lot of chances on the second serve of Mensik under pressure. Still gotta appreciate the effort from Mensik and his immense composure, especially in crucial moments where instead of being passive, he tried to step up and play aggressively. It especially helped him on a tie break where he was casually making first balls in which eventually resulted in Andrey’s frustration and abundance of easy errors in those important games

mensik wanted to give a kiss to rublev at the handshake but rubles immediately declined. he was schocked twice 😀

Rublev his refusal to finish points at the net, hit predictable serves, no slice no dropshots, basically his lack of mixing it up, is costing him dearly, preventing the next step up to happen…

Rublev has two problems, he doesn’t control his nerves in crucial moments of the matches and he has zero variety in his game.

What he does he does it really good but sometimes that’s simply not enough.

Mensik has a lot of potential and he became the youngest member of the top 100
