If you told me that a player in that match got disqualified for cursing out a line judge in Russian that wasn’t Bublik, I wouldn’t believe you
Medvedev is able to neutralize the opponent’s initiative in a way that drives people crazy, but Humbert was doing exactly the same. What a match!
That Bublik Rublev match had it all.. Bubliks best Forehanda he ever hit, broken racket and Andrei who lost his head at the end… wow what a match😮
Humbert is an unbelievably difficult match up historically for Medvedev and it showed once more, and it’s especially more exposed on a faster hardcourt.
Humbert has some of the cleanest and efficient strokes I’ve ever seen for a lefty
Bubliks actually pretty good when doesn’t just mess around
Humbert recently defeated:
✅ Hurkazc (their last 2!)
✅ Medvedev
✅ Dimitrov
✅ Monfils
✅ Murray
Apart from the top 3, he has defeated some of the best players on hard courts. Truly remarkable.
Now that’s some GREAT Ugo… let’s hope it stays this way till Wimbledon…!
In hindsight, it was a matter of time before Rublev’s questionable temperament got him into trouble. I had actually praised him a couple of weeks ago for being better under pressure! His explosions are hard to watch.
Humbert is such a clean and heavy ball striker, up there with the likes of Nalbandian, Sinner, Berdych or Wawrinka. He will be top 10 this year no doubt and a menace in masters 1000 hard courts. He’s amazing on grass too. He just needs to keep his confidence through the clay season.
Humbert = Giant killer
4-2 in his last 6 matches against TOP 5.
Rublo needs to take a breath. He’s so high-strung sometimes. That sort of mentality will continue to hold him back

humbert confidence is sky high….the guy is putting bullets from both sides….even medvedev couldnt deal with his power and consistency
To be fair, Rublev has some major anger management issues. He is a great guy but he can’t control his emotions on court. I hope he gets a therapist to help him with something deeper that needs to be addressed.

I’m Rublev’s biggest fan but he REALLY needs to grow up and stop acting like a teenager….😒😔
It was a long time coming for Andrey.
I like him but he has had these outbursts of anger far too often.
Hope he learns from it.
