Djokovic wasn’t in bad shape, and he often recovered from being behind. But Nardi’s play was great.

Nardi played amazing especially in the third set, but it’s strange how Djokovic didn’t even try to run after some of the short balls and volleys that looked totally makeable by his standard. It looks like he is not really motivated to play his best outside grand slams anymore. Or he is closer to retirement than everyone thought. Even the GOAT can’t run around with 15+ years younger guys forever.
From coming as a Lucky Loser to make it so far in the tournament is already a great achievement. Let’s hope Nardi can defeat Tommy Paul and move on to the quarter finals. What a great talent 👏👍
