The fact that Grigor was playing this well and still lost in straight sets shows you how crazy good he was playing that day

I love Dimitrov..he has a good looking game and completed well..I think if he would have won the 1st set maybe he could have built better. Novak is just too dangerous defensively and a great front running..Tough to beat him..Good match.

Novak is playing on one leg and still beats everybody. Grigor showed plenty of fight but Novak was just too superior. Still a long way to go but it seems like he doesn’t even need to be 100% to win a slam. And he is 35!! Amazing!!

I’m a die-hard Federer fan, but Djokovic is making it tough to argue against him. At least he started beating Nadal, but always falls short against Djoko. This man is Kobe/Michael level competitive. Nothing will stop him from winning another slam. Djoko, you are the best.

Feel bad for Grigor, cant change the past, I think he could have won 1-2 slams if he stayed focused in the past decade, here’s hoping he can pull off a Stan, late bloomer stunt…Novak is going for the sole GOAT status.

A cause for optimism as a Djokovic fan, is that he is still winning his matches rather comfortably. I believe that if his injury was really serious, he wouldn’t be able to win in straight sets like he did. Keep the faith and keep pushing for number 22.

Amazing how Novak adjusts after a tough set and says to himself: “enough of this I need to finish him off and give my hammies a rest”! Very smart playing. The speedy and crafty de Minaur is next.

Amazing how these players still haven’t realized the average speed at which you have to play Djokovic to have any chance. Nole is from another planet and upped the speed and accuracy of his game at least two years ago. Amazing how even today only Wawrinka understood that concept.

Re: Dmitrov’s passing attempt on that last set point in the first set, I don’t understand why on earth he didn’t hit the lob?? He deliberately sucked NOvak into net with the previous shot and had TONS of time on the ball to set up whatever pass he wanted. The lob was the obvious shot, seems weird he tried to hit the most difficult one down the line

It was, as usual, only a matter of time before Dimitrov would flatter to deceive. Next up for Djokovic is DeMinaur who has neither the balls nor skills to stop Djokovic except backing of an aggressive home crowd … Of course if Djokovic ‘s hamstring worsens .. it is a different matter

Today’s youngsters have no chance against the legends of yesteryears . We are fortunate to have lived that era and it might never come again.

Great win! Get some good rest and hopefully the hamstring injury is healing a bit. We all know it’s an injury that takes time to heal.

Main rival for Djokovic here on forward is his hamstring. Playing like this injury-free he might as well play left-handed and still win.

Djokovic’s anticipation at tie braker returning ace serve is turning point and rest is all read and blocked the shot down the line.. continued!! Only way to defeat him is to consistently change shots!! Nadal is one contender mind game!!
