Being a Tennis nerd, having watched countless hours of all the greats of this game, I’ve never seen anything like Alcaraz. And the kid is only 19! His mental game and appetite are right up there at such a young age. Should he stay injury free, there’s no doubt he will be at the very top of World Tennis for the next decade or more… I can’t imagine what he’ll be like in a few years…

Lo hace todo bien. Da gusto verlo jugar. Si está concentrado es difícil de batir. Un orgullo de compatriota, como lo es Nadal. Tenemos un sustituto fenomenal.

Alcaraz is a one-man highlights reel. Tommy played at a very high level too. Sky is the limit for Carlos – hope he remains injury-free.

Everybody is talking about Alcaraz of course, but man Tommy Paul has raised his level in the last years. Should be soon in the Top 10 if he continues like that. Really love his game, he moves so elegant

Carlos is the real deal. He never seems to falter, he never seems to have any doubts. Total confidence and that is exactly what a top athlete needs.

12/13 net points won by Alcaraz also has a demolisher
forehand and exquisite dropshots, and speed like a thunder. Amazing

Easily the most exciting player since Big 3. His skills and champion attitude are unmatched. But it’s good Sinner is also improving his game and variety, they will be great rivals for the next decade. Paul played a good match, he’s a dangerous opponent and would surely cause more trouble if Alcaraz lost his cool for a while, as he used to in some matches last year. But today he was in full control with great confidence and didn’t lose his focus when he missed a few chances. He is really enjoying being number 1 right now, playing like there is no pressure at all. Really amazing mindset for a teenager with such high expectations around him.

it’s just unreal what he does.
the best of other players wont do it against him, it’s just not enough and that is probably the biggest indicator that this kid will be the biggest sportsman of the following decade.

Congrats to Alcaraz! I still remember their match from last year in Montreal. Alcaraz is a machine that just keeps on winning and I hope he can defend his title here. Nice slice smash from Tommy Paul at 1:30

Alcaraz has it all: speed, power, touch, finesse, tennis smarts, intensity and now confidence and healthy swagger. Love it.

Alcaraz is creating fed like aura of 2004-2007 and he is still a teen. He is combo of big three. Variety, forehand of Roger, speed of nadal and flexibility of nole. Scary combo of offense and defense

I think we’re yet to see Tommy Paul at his absolute best level, but the commentator was accurate about Alcaraz: “That’s not defense, that’s defiance.”

His backhand down-the-line and drop shot is what really makes Alcaraz stand out from the rest! It’s the shots nobody dares to hit is what makes him who he is!😊

Everyone talks about Carlito’s athleticism, his powerful ground strokes and his all court game! But one thing that makes him a champion is his mental strength. The kid’s maturity level is next level. Some of the impossible shots he picks up are not because he can run well, but it’s because he never gives up. Such an inspiration.

Carlos was at his best not during the US Open – he was at his grittiest there – but about this same time last year. From shortly after the AO through to Madrid he was w/out question the best player in the world. He would wear out both physically & mentally as the season became too long for him – huge mistake was playing Davis Cup the week after the US Open’s taxing win. Well, he is baaack to that same level of last year…and more! His serve has noticeably improved both in speed and placement, as has his patience as he is now much more willing to get into rallies as opposed to an all-out attack prone to error-filled lapses. His forehand remains a thing of beauty, best on circuit since prime Fed, drop-shots, volleys near & far, and more than the occasional blast from the backhand as well.

He is now 18-0 in sets at The Sunshine Double, and 16W vs 1L (hurt in Rio final vs Norris) for the year. And he is only getting started in his career…

Carlitos really has improved backhand and forehand down the line. Not to mention his serve is becoming lethal. Really impressed by his performances in 2023. And what a defense? It is absurd how he can dose his shots and defensive lobs and moon balls and they always land on the line.

What impresses me about Carlos is that Tommy Paul would have beaten almost all the players today, but Carlos didn’t let up and raised his level. That was an impressive win.

The great thing about Carlos is that he is a very kind person, at the handshake he always praise the opponents, losing or winning. Very humble

Carlos is a new species for tennis. Confidence, charisma, power, technique, etc. I pray the dude will remain as healthy as possible because he’s re-writing tennis history. If he stays the path for a decade, he’ll be there with the Titans of the sport, and a bit more…

Arguably the two fastest athletes on tour. What a match by alcaraz. This kid has shown a whole new level these past two weeks, and the level he had before was enough to win a grand slam. If anyone had any doubts, they should now be dispelled

Let’s be honest, we never saw what he does in a tennis court, even the Big 3, I’m not talking about titles and their careers in terms of victory, I’m talking just about what he is able to do with the ball, this guy is changing the game.
