In as much as Daniil loathes playing on clay, he still realises it’s importance on the tour and respects it unlike some players that find the surface difficult to play on and want to make it seem like it’s ridiculous to still be playing on it in this day and age. Got to respect him for that. What a professional. He’s actually getting better everytime he plays. Kudos Daniil!!

I remember when a young Coric was being described at an awards ceremony at the ATP tour finals as “the best of his generation”. Since that time, his career has been held back by injury and also a rather mechanical style. Still, he’s a very tough grinder and this was a very good win for Tsitsipas.
