I think these highlights make the match feel more one-sided than it was. Watching this match live even when rublev was down two sets it didn’t feel like it because it was so close the whole time. Lost out on a few crucial pts but rublev played at an incredibly high level this tourney and hopefully he can maintain that

I feel like Rublev is starting to occupy that place Ferrer used to fill. Clearly a top player, gonna float around the mid to low top 10 but inevitably falling short in the big matches.

Partita devastante , ad altissimi ritmi. I russi si sono dimostrati dei grandi atleti, dei combattenti, fini all’ultimo punto. Ha vinto chi ha resistito di più a livello fisico. Medvedev è un grande atleta 💪🏻

Rublev is reincarnated Davydenko. Not a big guy, but redlining it every point. Aggressive. Does the job most of the time. But falling short at big moments.

The score doesn’t reflect the actual game. 52%/48% won points goes to show how close the match was. Looks like Daniil dealt with brutal weather conditions much better and stayed more clutch at crunch moments. Props to Rublo for trying to bounce back. He would’ve made it through had he been in the bottom halve and didn’t have to play his biggest kryptonite Daniil

Both players showed so much strenght and resilience in extreme conditions that they shouldn’t be playing in. And in the end, after such a tough battle, embraced each other at the net with love and respect like true friends do – that’s why I love these two and they always will be some of my favourite players ❤️

I love Rublev’s dedication and I wish him all the best. You know what they say: 10th time is the charm!

It’s was closer than the result appears, rublev was all sets leading and than lost every set, a real defit. Kudos to Meddy now in the semis 🐙

Medvedev plays so far behind the baseline he’s in another zip code… so hard to hit a clean winner by him

Just hitting the ball hard to Medvedev isn’t gonna do it! More variety is needed to get him out of his rhythm! Look at Alcaraz plays him or how Federer used to play him!

Great Respect to Andrey, he always plays with all the heart power he has….. no discounts!!!! And of course many congrats to Daniil…. he deserves his position in the ATP ranking, 100%….. Not a fancy player , however he does the job very efficiently!!!!!
