Aldila Sutjiadi and Miyu Kato were disqualified from their doubles match at Roland-Garros after the latter struck a ball to the opposite end of the court between points.
The accidentally hit a ball girl, leaving her in tears.
The initial call from the chair was a warning before Marie Bouzkova and Sara Sorribes Tormo, Sutjiadi and Kato’s opponent, highlighted to the umpire that the ball girl was clearly distressed.
The supervisor was then called to the court and the decision was made to disqualify the pair.
This is a complete defeat for the organizers of Roland Garros. To put an emotionally unstable person who is obviously not capable of performing that function as a ball collector; then the judges who do not see the absurdity of the situation and react by supporting the stupidity and emotional immaturity of the ball collector; then the unsportsmanlike tennis players of the opposing team who think it is perfectly normal to ask for a penalty for the opposing team of tennis players and at the same time act as if it is normal to try to steal the victory. The match should be suspended until the decision is changed, which must be, the referee’s disqualification due to a disastrous decision, the opposition team’s disqualification and fine, and the placement of the disqualified team in the next round. As things stand now, the Japanese tennis player will be permanently scared.

ほんとに申し訳ないけどこの程度のアクシデントで泣くような子をこの場に立たせるべきでは無い。この子は悪くないんだけど、泣かれるだけで失格にされるような制度がまかり通るのなら選手の方が泣きたいやろうし、そう思ってしまうよ。もちろんこれで失格にしてる主催共が1番悪い。
女の子は泣いてしまったけど、それはしょうがない。ボールを当ててしまった加藤選手のように、わざとではないのだから。
女の子の涙を利用して審判に抗議した対戦相手と、警告から失格にした審判が悪いのだ。
このあと優勝するの、なんていうかクソみたいな理不尽押し付けられても必要以上に喚かずに黙って結果出して見返してやるっていうThe日本人の精神で好き

まさかのアクシデントで、失格になってしまったけどその悔しさをバネにその後見事優勝したのは、大したもんだな！当たった女の子もとても申し訳なく心苦しい思いをしていたと思うけど、加藤さんが頑張ってくれたからとても嬉しく思ったと思うよ！加藤さんあっぱれ！
