Rafa actually played better than his previous few games in my view. He lost simply because Lehecka played better with fast pace.
Everyone’s time comes to an end. Loved the entire farewell given my Madrid to my favourite tennis player of all time. Such a beautiful send-off. Gracias Rafael Nadal! ❤

Funny how all the young guys treat Rafa with so much respect. None of them screams or celebrates loudly after beating him even though beating Rafa on clay is one of the most ultimate things ever.

I’m happy to see Rafa play again but I’m equally happy Lehecka won the match not against Rafa but the disrespectful crowd!
Totally unacceptable to be chanting RAFA RAFA while he tried to serve.
It’s totally fine to root for Nadal and rightly so because it is Madrid but to distract the opponent is graceful, to say the least!
It was a golden opportunity for Lehecka! To beat Rafa on clay!!
Insane mental performance from Lehecka, especially with the crowd against him. Nadal’s level is still impressive, not many players would beat the Czech today. I wish people would start acknowledging how good this era of tennis players is, anyone in that top 30 can put in a performance on any given day
